I met up with Geoff and Bev and their children Josh, Austin, and Madeline in Cochrane, Alberta for a fall family session. We chose the Cochrane RancheHouse as our location and I couldn’t have been happier with all the variety and fun spots to explore.
When planning a family photo session I always like to choose a place that the kids will enjoy exploring or discovering. This makes it really easy to capture families together as they are naturally, without having to relying on posing.
Geoff and Bev brought along the newest member of their family, Teddy the dog. Never have I worked with a dog that was more well behaved and responsive. He was such a delight and I really enjoyed capturing the bond between this family and their dog.
Bev brought along a football for the guys to play with and it was such a good idea. This allowed me to capture the fun and the joy Geoff has with his two sons while playing. In the years to come I know Bev and Geoff will look upon these pictures fondly as they remember the youthful exuberance of their sons. Josh and Austin will also be able to remember how Geoff would spend such valuable quality time with them.
Madeline was such a wonderful character with so much personality. She was such a joy to photograph because she was so comfortable in front of the camera and candid. She was always ready to laugh. I especially love the photos of Madeline and her mom because it’s clear how much they adore each other and have a special bond.
I just also have to say that I am spoiled with working with the best kids out there and this family is no exception. Josh, Austin, and Madeline were so friendly and energetic and I’m better for knowing them. Thank you to Geoff and Bev for having me come and take some fall family pictures for you in Cochrane. I so enjoyed meeting your children.
Often as I am editing a natural and candid family session I find myself unconsciously smiling as I am looking at photos of happy and joyful people. I can’t look through these photos without smiling and I hope they put a smile on your face as well.
If you’d like to see some more fall family photos, you can go to the session I did in Carburn Park in Calgary.
