Almost two years ago I had the pleasure of photographing Leah, the beautiful daughter of Andrew and Katie, in her home a couple of weeks after she was born. This was one of the first newborn sessions I ever did and I must say this little girl set the bar pretty high for cuteness. I photographed Andrew and Katie’s wedding several years earlier and I was so excited when they asked me to photograph Leah as well. I started my professional photography career as a wedding photographer, but I have been thrilled to take on newborns and families as my past clients begin to have babies and I get the chance to reconnect. There’s something so special about photographing two people on their wedding day and then to have the privilege to meet their children.

The appeal for me of a beautiful and natural newborn session is that I get the opportunity to capture the connection between baby and parents. What I love the most about this session is that Leah is so alert and attentive to her parents. Many times she would gaze at them with complete adoration.

The beautiful blanket was crocheted by Katie’s Oma while she was pregnant and Leah will always have a very special reminder of the love of her great-grandmother.
